Tina Pic of the Colavita/Sutter Home Women’s Cycling Team presented by Cooking Light Races to Victory

Colavita/Sutter Home’s Tina Pic, Nichole Wangsgard, and Andrea Dvorak with Anna McLoon of Colavita New England executed their strategy magnificently throughout the 30-lap race in unseasonably warm temperatures. Tina latched herself onto Laura Van Gilder (Cheerwine) when she attacked the field in the first five laps.  The pair, two of the fastest sprinters in the women’s peloton, gained a sizeable lead on a chase group of five containing Tina’s Colavita/Sutter Home teammates Nichole and Anna. As Tina flew down the finishing straight to take victory, Nicole and Anna picked up 4th and 7th, respectively.  After the podium presentation, Tina said, “We worked really well and Laura did a great job. This is one of my favorite races. The crowds are great and it’s just really fun.”
