Alison Powers of Colavita/Sutter Home Women’s Cycling Team presented by Cooking Light is Named 2008 US National Time Trial Champion

Alison flew over the 33-kilometer time trial circuit in a best time of 49’19”, ahead of second-placed Mara Abbott (Team Columbia) by 1’31”.  Chrissy Ruiter (Value Act Capital) followed in third place in 1’47” behind Alison. The time trial took each rider on an out-and-back course from Aliso Creek bikeway and along the path to Santiago Canyon Road. The undulating terrain suited Alison strengths with 1287' of climbing, most of which led to the turn-around point. "We drove it two days ago and I liked it right away," said Alison. "The longer the course is, the more it works in my favor.” Alison’s Colavita/Sutter Home teammates Dotsie Bausch and Andrea Dvorak finished 15th and 27th, respectively.  Alison has spent most of the 2008 racing season with the USA Cycling Women’s National team, based in Lucca, Italy.
