Gustavo Artacho

Gustavo Artacho of the Colavita/Sutter Home Men’s Cycling Team presented by Cooking Light conquered the heat, the hills, and a four-man break when he kicked it into high gear to win the final sprint of the challenging 70-mile circuit race.  The Argentinean all-rounder jumped out of the last bend ahead of his competitors to take the win in the 10th annual Mount Holly event.  “I’ve always liked this race,” Gustavo said, “But now I like it more.”

Colavita/Sutter Home lined up a strong six-man squad, including Gustavo, Alejandro Borrajo, Luca Damiani, Davide Frattini, Kyle Wamsley, and Luis Amaran.  Gustavo and Alejandro jumped into a break of 15 riders that slipped off the front of the active peloton half way into the 30-lap race. "Our strategy was to put one rider in the break if it was less than five riders and two if it was more than five riders,” explained Gustavo.  Four riders, including Gustavo, separated themselves from the large front group. Alejandro Borrajo crossed the finish line in fifth.
