Tour de San Luis
San Luis, Argentina
January 22-27, 2008
Race reports by Kirsten Robbins

After the third stage, the 19km San Luis Time Trial, Sebastian Haedo is tied for first place in the King of the Mountain competition with Maximiliano Richeze, leader of Argentina’s National Team.  With six points each, the pair will battle for victory in the upcoming 157 km stage, that includes three Category 3 ascents en route to the finish in El Potrero.  Alejandro and Anibal Borrajo maintain their positions in the top 25 on GC.

Anibal Borrajo of the Colavita/Sutter Home Men’s Cycling Team presented by Cooking Light took third in Stage 2 of the Tour de San Luis, the 168.7km race from La Toma to Merlo, Argentina.  His brother Alejandro followed in 7th.

At the end of Stage 2, Anibal is 3rd on GC, just 7 seconds behind the current race leader, Martin Garrido (Palmeiras R
esort-Tavira), with Alejandro a close fourth.  The Tour de San Luis continues with a second time trial in San Luis.  As Cycling News writes, “at 19.8km, this test is much longer than the first and should produce a considerable shake-up in the overall standings.”  Read Cycling News race coverage here
