The Colavita/Sutter Home Men’s Cycling Team presented by Cooking Light were aggressive and opportunistic in the Stage One Granite Road Race. Adam Bergman represented the team in the significant 12-man breakaway that split on the second of three laps. Half of the break was swallowed by a charging field with five kilometers to go. Seven riders succeeded to the finish and Colavita/Sutter Home set up Luca Damiani to place fifth in the field sprint and 12th in the stage.  David McCann brought home another 12th place for the team in the Stage Two Belmont-Piedra 16.5-mile time trial. By Stage Three of the Central Valley Classic, the Colavita/Sutter Home Men’s Cycling Team was on a mission to match the world-class performance of the women’s team.  Veteran Gustavo Artacho was involved in a 12-man break that spent half the race off the front. With eight laps to go, a dangerous break formed that contained Davide Frattini and Peter Hatton.  Each time, the Priority Health team brought the breaks back and with five laps to go, it was the colors of Colavita/Sutter Home on the front. The team kept the pace single file for the remaining laps and brought its sprinter Alejandro Acton to the final turn. Alejandro launched his sprint neck-and-neck with Toyota United’s Henk Vogels on his inside. Vogels, a crafty sprinter, yielded little space along the barriers and crossed the line with just a tire’s width between him and Alejandro.  Overall GC results will be posted when available.
